I am a graduate research assistant in Diagnostics Research Group at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Electronics Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia) in 2009.

My research is in the areas of digital electronics and (currently) in system application on ultrasound exposimetry.

I am affiliated with IEEE as student member. In TELKOMNIKA Journal, I have served as invited reviewer. Besides, I am involved in NGOs, student associations, and managing non-profit foundation.

Brief

Imamul Muttakin was born in Cilegon (Banten – Indonesia) in May 1987. His father is a teacher (civil servant), his mother is a housewife. At home, he also has being taught by his Ua (uncle, and his wife) who is a retired merchant and head of the Madrasah as well as one among leaders in neighborhood community. TK Andhika, SDN Ciwaduk, Madrasah Ibtida’iyyah Al-Islamiyyah, and SMP Negeri 1 Cilegon were his place to learn by then. At the age of baligh / adolescent (15 years old), he began to leave his hometown toward the provincial capital to pursue high school education (at SMA Negeri 1 Serang).

Bachelor of Engineering (ST) degree was achieved in Electrical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia, in July 2009. He took specialization in electronics with the final project titled Upconverter design for WiMAX Transceiver. Amid the bustle of academic run, he was actively involved as a laboratory assistant and assistant lecturer. In addition, he was attached in various student affairs such as the Electrotechnical Student Association and extracurricular unit in Salman Mosque. Become instructors, mentors, and teachers are the dominant activities he did during college at undergraduate level.

He gained engineering experiences while conducting an internship as an IC designer at a design house firm in the country. Executions of projects in some courses in which he attended also contribute to foster a sense of electronic engineering. After graduation, he was directly involved in one of national research institute.

Outside the field of electronics, he was concerned with computer and internet as a hobby. Related to that, he had served as a network administrator for a server secretariat on campus. His spare time is filled with reading, collecting books, and writing. As for his another former hobbies are football and playing guitar.

Guidance which has being tasted in family and continued to interact with supporting environment helps him devoted to religion. He was very interested in interpretation (tafsir) of the Quran. In addition, he also learned Qiro’at Sab’ah by talaqqi on family chain.

In September 2009, he stepped to neighbor country working at a local company as an electronic engineer. Until present, he has been continuing his graduate study (Master by Research) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru – Malaysia.
